Tip Toe Meme Explained: The AI Rumpelstiltskin Video & Song

The tip toe meme explained: where the AI Rumpelstiltskin clip came from, whether it is from the 1987 film, the Riff Raff song, and how to make your own.

Published Oct 10, 2026

The tip toe meme is the clip of a grinning, goblin-like trickster who shushes the camera and then tiptoes across a straw-filled barn, set to Riff Raff's "Tip Toe Wing In My Jawwdinz". It took over TikTok, Instagram and X in early October 2026. Here is where it came from, whether it is AI, what the song is, and how to make your own version from one photo. We built a tool for this trend, so the last part comes with our own test results.

Short answer: yes, the Rumpelstiltskin tip toe meme is AI. The clip comes from an AI-generated fairy-tale short that AI artist Tatyana Tereshchenko posted on Instagram on August 27, 2026, not from the 1987 film Rumpelstiltskin. The song is "Tip Toe Wing In My Jawwdinz" by Riff Raff, from 2014. To put yourself in it, use a Rumpelstiltskin meme generator: upload one photo and get the tiptoe dance as a 10 second clip.

Where the tip toe meme came from

The tiptoeing meme took about five weeks to go from an Instagram art post to a trend everyone remixed:

  • August 27, 2026: AI artist Tatyana Tereshchenko (@stroinaya on Instagram) posts an AI fairy-tale short with an 80s fantasy film look. A small trickster creeps up on a blonde woman in a straw barn, dances around her and turns the straw into gold (Know Your Meme, LADbible).
  • September 29: a TikTok creator sets the dance scene to Riff Raff's song, with the caption "The type of dreams I be having after taking dollar store melatonin". It passes 850,000 views in under a week (NBC News).
  • October 1: a repost on X reaches 9.8 million views in five days (Know Your Meme).
  • October 3 to 5: the remixes start. Streamers, TV characters and politicians get their faces swapped into the tiptoe dance, and green-screen copies spread for editing.
  • October 6 and 7: Know Your Meme, LADbible and NBC News write up the meme.
  • October 8: US interest in "rumpelstiltskin meme" peaks on Google Trends. On October 10 it was still at three quarters of that peak (our check of Google Trends data on October 11, 2026).

Is the Rumpelstiltskin meme AI?

Yes. Know Your Meme lists the clip as confirmed AI, and Riff Raff's own page told fans that the clip is AI and not from a 1987 movie. The signs are typical of AI video: smooth, slightly floaty motion, faces that shift between shots, and a scene that appears in no film. The video model behind it was never named.

Is the tip toe meme from the 1987 Rumpelstiltskin movie?

No. There is a real 1987 musical, Rumpelstiltskin from Cannon Movie Tales, with Billy Barty as the title character and Amy Irving as the miller's daughter, and many reposts captioned the clip "Rumpelstiltskin (1987)". The tiptoe scene is not in that film; it comes from the AI short above. If you were looking for the film itself, it is a different thing.

What is the tip toe meme song?

The tip toe meme song is "Tip Toe Wing In My Jawwdinz" by Riff Raff, from his 2014 album Neon Icon. Said quickly, the title sounds like "tiptoeing in my Jordans", which is why people also call it the tip toeing in my Jordans meme. In the meme, tiptoeing is the dance itself: walking on the balls of the feet with bent knees, like someone sneaking past, while "Jordans" are the sneakers.

The song is on streaming services and in the sound libraries of TikTok and Instagram, and that is the place to add it to your own version. It belongs to its owners, so a clip with the track baked into the file can get your post muted.

The tiptoe dance, move by move

We rebuilt the moves for our own dance template, so we went through them frame by frame. The routine has four parts:

  1. A sly shh: one finger to the lips and a sideways grin at the camera.
  2. Knees bent and weight on the balls of the feet, with the heels off the floor.
  3. Arms out and down at about 45 degrees, wrists flicked up, like little wings.
  4. Tiny, quick steps from side to side, about two shifts of weight a second, with the shoulders bobbing. It sits slightly off the beat, and that is part of the joke.
Six frames of our own tiptoe dance template: a trickster in a green waistcoat stands in a straw barn, shushes the camera, then tiptoes with bent knees and arms spread

The template above is ours, made with an AI video model for our tool; no frame of the original meme is used in it or in this guide.

How to make your own tip toe meme

The quickest way to make a tip toe meme is our Rumpelstiltskin Meme Generator. There is nothing to film and no editing app to learn.

Step 1: Add one photo

Use a photo of one person facing the camera, full body if you can, with empty hands. A JPG, PNG or WebP works. Only use your own photo or one of an adult who agreed to it.

Step 2: Pick a look

Become Rumpelstiltskin redraws you in the trickster's costume in a straw barn and then dances the tiptoe. Keep my look makes the person in your photo dance as they are, in their own clothes and setting.

Step 3: Make it dance

About 3 minutes later you get a 10 second, 9:16 MP4 with our own music. Turn Music off if you want to add the trending sound in TikTok. Each clip costs credits, and the button shows the price before you start: in October 2026, 26 credits for Become Rumpelstiltskin and 23 for Keep my look.

Two photos and their tip toe meme results: a man in a denim jacket becomes the trickster in a straw barn, and a woman in a studio dances in her own outfit

What we learned testing 6 AI models on the tiptoe dance

Before building the tool, on October 11, 2026 we ran the same three photos (a full-length studio shot, a waist-up street photo and an illustrated elf) through six AI ways of copying a dance, all on the same 5 second piece of our tiptoe template:

Model Wait for a 5 s clip What happened
DreamActor v2 1.5 to 3 min Face stayed in view; filled in the legs of the waist-up photo and danced the whole routine
Kling 3.0 Pro 3.5 to 5 min Sharpest picture (1080p), but it copied the head bows, so hair hid the face, and waist-up stayed waist-up
Kling 2.6 Standard 2.5 to 4.5 min Much the same as Kling 3.0 Pro, at 720p
Wan 2.2 Animate Move 8.5 to 12 min Good moves, visible motion blur
Wan 2.2 Animate Replace about 12 min Put the person into the barn, but changed the shoes
PixVerse Swap 1.5 to 2 min Put the person into the barn, but turned long trousers into knee breeches
A waist-up street photo through two models: Kling 3.0 Pro keeps the half-length framing and only the arms move, DreamActor v2 shows the whole body doing the tiptoe steps
A waist-up street photo through two models: Kling 3.0 Pro keeps the half-length framing and only the arms move, DreamActor v2 shows the whole body doing the tiptoe steps

Three tips came out of the test for any version:

  • Go full length. The tiptoe meme is about the feet. With a waist-up photo, pick a model that fills in the legs (our generator's default, DreamActor, does).
  • Keep the face front on and clear. Side profiles, hands near the face and hair over it give a weaker likeness.
  • Empty hands. Phones and drinks tend to melt or jump between frames.

Share your tip toe meme the right way

  • Use photos of yourself or of adults who agreed. Leave out celebrities and children.
  • Add the song from the app's sound library rather than a ripped audio file.
  • Say it is AI in the caption. Many platforms ask for it now.
  • Want a looping version for group chats? Turn the MP4 into a GIF with Video to GIF.
